This Thursday, I was part of a record-breaking crowd filing for state office. Thanks to all of the Oklahoma State Election Board employees and State Troopers, along with the Senate and House Sergeants at Arms, for keeping everything running so smoothly for everyone.
It was a joy to have my wife and children with me as I filed. As has happened every other day I’ve been at the Capitol over the last couple of weeks, the teachers, parents, and supporters of public education that we saw and spoke to were exceptionally polite and respectful. They were there to express their opinions and ask their legislators to do what’s right for children and Oklahoma. Many were thoroughly exhausted, yet still present to make certain their concerns were heard. I am blessed that I was able to file on that day when so many Oklahomans were celebrating democracy in action at their Capitol.
I hope my kids never forget the day Daddy stood up to be counted for them and the future of our state. #civics101
